Add a New/Update Old Skatepark in Corona, CA
Both skateparks, Santana and Corona City a park off 6th Street, are old and not entirely functional. Skateparks help keep us in shape and provides us with a type of therapy. It benefits kids and adults. The skateparks that already exist here are broken down, have many bumps/cracks, are not functional to all wheels, and are extremely small with no beginning type bowls, rails, or ramps. We need a shallow bowl, a lower straight rail, or a mini ramp, so kids and beginning adults can learn without feeling intimidated or without getting hurt. Expanding Santana park and adding a shallow 3-4ft bowl with coping, a low rail, and take out or change the pool that already exists into a larger functional pool would be ideal. Or adding a mini ramp and other street styled equipment at a new location would be a plus too. So many skaters, bikers, and people who ride scooters, have complained about the skateparks in Corona, ca. Unfortunately, we all spend so much gas to goto other parks in Chino and Jurupa, since the parks here are not very enjoyable. Both parks have security/city workers come by to ensure safety and cleanliness. Skating has become even more popular and all types of people enjoy it. It will bring our community together and make Corona a better city. Please consider how beneficial it will be to not only the cities’ citizens’ mental health, but to the increase in revenue at gas stations and food locations. Although it will cost the city some money to expand Santana, it will also boost our economy. If this doesn’t benefit you, please consider signing this as a courteous gesture to those who benefit from it, which is mostly children and their families. If we do not redo the skateparks we have or add a new one, parents will have to drive to other cities to take their kids to skateparks and it further distances us as a community. Thank you for listening and I hope to see this in works soon.
