When searching for videos on YouTube there are plenty of filters like:

• upload date
• type
• duration
• features
• sort by

But one thing missed compared with Google Search is a language filter option.

Due to russian full-scale war against Ukraine, many Ukrainians don't want to see videos in russian but we still receive many recommendations of russian videos.

One option to slightly reduce this effect is writing in the Ukrainian language, but YouTube shows videos in russian anyway, it's not a YouTube algorithm foolproof solution and works to some extent to get videos in a language that you really looking for.

When uploading a video to YouTube through YouTube Studio in a section called Language and captions certification there is an option to specify a language. This could be used as a filter in order to make a query to a database and fetch videos that provided value for this field. If the value is omitted then a standard YouTube recommendations algorithm can be applied.
