I live at the intersection of South Braddock and Biddle and cross the street often to take my two young children to the park. I can attest to the problems that I experience regularly as well as the accidents that I've witnessed out of my front windows. I regularly hear car tires screech to a stop which tells me that they are disregarding pedestrians. I've seen similar problems at Guthrie, including two of my neighbors, a woman and child, on two occasions who were hit by cars. Thankfully, they are here to talk about it. We fully support action to improve these intersections to make them safer for residents and visitors alike. I am happy to volunteer to help care for any landscaping that might be added to the bumpouts, and I work at Tree Pittsburgh, a local non-profit urban forestry organization, that can be tapped as a resource.

I use these neighborhood businesses frequently. My little legged toddler takes a long time to walk up and down the whole street just to get some french fries.

I frequent the businesses at this intersection and when crossing have felt unsafe with the speed of traffic & lack of designated crosswalk.

I've crossed the street here many time (ok, yes, I was jaywalking ... sorry) and it's dicey. Need to slow down traffic on Braddock through that intersection.

Pedestrian safety should be the top priority in a shopping district.

Something needs to be done at this intersection. The lives of Regent Square residents and business patrons are much more important than the speed at which commuters can get home to the suburbs. At the very least, a stop sign at Sanders would force drivers to see what is happening before they fly over the crest of the hill and it's too late. Perhaps the commuters would even be inclined to take another way home if they are annoyed by a stop sign.

I used to live in Swissvale, and always thought this street was dangerous for pedestrians
