On Monday, Aurora’s City Council will vote on whether to ban the drug that killed Elijah until the Department of Health concludes its investigation. Ketamine can cause hallucinations, increased heart rate, severe confusion – and in Elijah’s case, death.
Just a few days before Elijah McClain was killed, another Elijah was injected with ketamine by Colorado law enforcement. He ended up on a ventilator in the hospital.
Since Elijah McClain’s death, the Aurora police department has continued to use this dangerous drug. Now the city council has the chance to stop it until the Department of Health concludes its investigation into ketamine use.
Once that’s done, consider calling them again. Council members need to hear from you before the vote on Monday.
