Keep Cash Payments for UTS Club Events

ActivateClubs have reformatted their membership database to solely take non-cash payments for clubs events. While the idea of having a unified membership database is good, taking away the option to make cash payments makes community interaction more difficult. Especially for O-Day events, cash payments ensures committment to their membership. Many clubs give out membership goodie bags and other items for sign-ups on the day. The new proposed system takes away the ease of new sign-ups and makes giving away membership bags an issue as it limits immediate sign ups on the day. Clubs will suffer a drastic drop in sign-ups via this method. As opposed to a simple $5 cash payment and being given a membership sticker, the process is being lengthened to making an interest, waiting, online sign-ups, then collecting their membership stickers. This is counter intuitive to club participation.
They have also proposed a $20 increase to non-UTS students joining clubs which doesn't incentivize more uni student interaction but lessen club participation as a whole.
There is obvious dissatisfaction by the majority of clubs about this change and we want ActivateClubs to listen to the people who make club life on campus work and trust that we know what makes our club community happy.
