Alt News has explained how this tweet can not be a valid tweet. Therefore, it is clear that this document was prepared with malafide intention to defame and implicate Dr. Brijesh Kumar Rai. However, their malafide intentions have been exposed, thanks to Alt News.

IIT system is renowned and reputed across the country and the world. IITs in public imagination are not only reputed as one of the finest academic institutions but also reputed for the rare qualities of honesty, integrity and civility. IITs are the beacon of civilized decency. The revelation by Alt News that BoG of IIT Guwahati has published a fake document is beyond the wildest imagination and severely hurts the public conscience.

Through this petition, I hereby request the Chairman, IIT Council (the Hon'ble Education Minister) to take immediate action against the delinquent officials of IIT Guwahati who are responsible for publishing a fake document and thereby defaming IIT Guwahati and also defaming the whole IIT system itself. As a Chairman of IIT Council, your strict action against the culprits is necessary to protect the image of IITs which has been built over several decades through the support of public fund, policy decisions of the IIT Council, presence of persons of integrity in the BoG of IITs and above all because of the hard work of faculty, staff and students. The image of IITs should be protected by bringing the culprits to the law.
