TALKING POINTS:

As your constituent, I would like you to ask prospective Attorney General, Eric Holder, about how he would support human rights if he is confirmed.
During the campaign President elect Obama made a commitment to close Guantanamo. What is nominee Holder’s plan for closing the detention facility at Guantanamo?
Will nominee Holder categorically state that the Guantanamo detainees will be charged with recognizable offenses and tried in US federal court or under the Uniform Code of Military Justice?
Will nominee Holder state that those who are not charged will be released, and how will he ensure that those who are cleared for release will not be sent to a country where they could possibly be subject to abuse or torture?
Does nominee Holder believe that waterboarding is torture?
Does the nominee believe that those individuals that ordered detainees to be waterboarded violated both international and long standing provisions in US law that hold waterboarding to be torture?
What steps and measures is nominee Holder willing to take to hold those who may have violated US and international law as part of the war on terror accountable?
Does nominee Holder agree with the findings of the recent Senate Armed Services Committee that those who designed and developed the policy of interrogation at the highest levels of the US government should be subject to investigation and where appropriate to prosecution? Thanks for taking action, and for helping on this important issue...
