The Kanawha Valley swim community needs your support!

The University of Charleston indoor pool is closing.  The competitive swim clubs, high school swim teams, summer leagues, emergency rescue personnel, scuba crews, lifeguards, and others relied on this facility for decades.

We have the chance to have an indoor 50 m facility at the Coonskin pool in Charleston.  This will protect the swim programs in our region. The Kanawha County Commission has the power to approve funding for necessary repairs to make this a reality.  Please show your support and request that the Kanawha County Commission ACT NOW to protect this incredible sport that is overwhelmingly overshadowed.

Having this facility will positively impact our economy.  By hosting meets at a newly updated indoor facility, swimming will draw thousands of visitors to Charleston.

Below are points of contact to get the Coonskin Project in motion.  Please feel free to email or call and express your concern about the project not moving forward and how swimming in the valley impacts your child and will continue to impact your child for years to come.  We need to demonstrate the immense impact that swimming has on families in the valley in our communications with the Kanawha County Commission.
