Drew Ward started this petition to ACT government and

CBRFree WiFi is available in 410 locations in Canberra, but not at many locations where it would be most useful for some of the most vulnerable people with the lowest tech access, and the least ability to pay high mobile Data fees.

The homeless and people in Social housing such as where I live in Ainslie Village have barely any access to the internet or even Mobile phone reception.

We need it to find and apply for jobs, seek healthcare, and just maintain Quality of Life. Could you cope without the internet let alone Netflix? I don't know anyone in the Village with a Netflix account, yet I know four people here with cancer.

We're in Quarantine now, and good internet would be a great way to reduce the temptation to sneak out.

Help us, and help yourselves, + the health of all those in Civic + more, get us CBRFree WiFi!

And maybe even throw in some Netflix accounts? That will keep people indoors & content!

We did have an Internet Café, but that ended at the beginning of lockdown.

Ducks Need WiFi too!

People who can afford to hang out in Malls, at Basketball courts, theatres, and sports precincts where CBRFree is located can normally afford a Data plan. They need free WiFi about as much as these ducks do.

The people here in Ainslie Village are even more vulnerable than the ducklings in this photo.

Fight Covid. Help us Ducklings.

People all over Canberra are vulnerable to Covid.

Fight Boredom! Fight Lockdown Fatigue, or just do a Good Deed.

We’re not supposed to leave our blocks, and even if we can afford it, we don’t get consistent access to the internet. NBN isn’t available to most of the village.

We have a Telstra ADSL line in my block, but it is not a great connection. Zoom calls sometimes won’t connect, or drop out even without video on.

We need it for Telehealth, Psychologists, to order medication, apply for jobs, and much more

Mobile Reception? Don't Ask!

Vodafone, Optus, and even Telstra are very inconsistent.

I have tried each, and have a Telstra network SIM card, and a mobile hotspot on the Telstra network.

I still can't make phone calls from my room at random times of the day, maybe when the network is busy, and data connectivity with a Telstra mobile hotspot?

You guessed it, it goes down at similar times, normally when the ADSL doesn’t work.

I'll put some more pic of Ducks and ducklings @ http://notgood4.me/ducksNeedWiFi2

#DucksNeedWiFi2  Ducklings need to show off on YouTube!
