Acting in promoting and defending GLBT rights means taking action before something happens.

Before the snide comment or joke is made, tell your office mates up front that you find those joke unacceptable.

Promote laws against hate crimes and anti-discrimination laws in your city, county or state BEFORE someone gets beaten or killed.

Get your organization to include sexual orientation and gender identification in their anti-discrimination policy BEFORE someone gets fired or passed over for promotion or harrassed.

Act - don't just react. And do it every day.
