The ACPSD dress code is a very serious topic. To start, dress codes at ACPSD are very sexist to women. The dress code causes women to feel like they need to cover up because it their fault that the school district feels it is “distracting.” The students at ACPSD feel there should be a dress code, but a lawful and fair dress code. Some examples of these sexist codes are leggings. Leggings are a comfortable type of clothing for women to wear. Women wearing leggings with shirts that past their butt still get dress coded. The only dress code for men is shorts and tank tops, this rule was made to make girls feel like they aren’t the only ones who haves rules but this dress code that the men have still apply for women. Dress code is very important and the students at ACPSD understand that but why does the school board feel as women are distracting? Most women aren’t dressing “revealing” for men or others to pay attention, but more for the comfort and the feeling that there is a dress code because men can’t respect women.
