Dear neighbors,

As you may be well informed the intersection of Camelback and 44th Street is being subjected to a major private redevelopment, a project by The Suns, as well as a nearby building for self storage, hotel and office space.

According to the Arcadia News ( Vol 27, No 6 pg 6), this construction will affect the height allowance, currently at 56 feet. The developers are planning not just The Sun’s facility development but also a 5 a story hotel, a self storage facility and an office building. This will forever change our surroundings, moreover impacting traffic and our environment. 

There are plenty of areas in need and way more appropriate for such developments, south of McDowell and downtown Phoenix. 

This is already a very crowded intersection and I am afraid the insufficient urban planning for those projects will lead to a devastating impact to the area. One of the reasons we choose to live in the area is due to its unique environment, with families and a peaceful surrounding.
