As an ACLU alumnus, I learned the importance of progressive reform and demanding change in my community through this wonderful institution. I find youth activism to be a crucial aspect in restoring civil liberties and promoting awareness throughout our community, one of the core values that I learned during this program.

As a youth activist myself, an opportunity to research the improvements for this program. As crucial as it is to ensure the voices of graduate students and those 18+ are heard in this board, it is also crucial to listen to high school students and alumni under 18, age should not be a defining factor when it comes to seeking change. The perspective that is delivered here would be radical and will serve a great purpose to help develop the ACLU program. Thereby, as ACLU alumni, I join together with all my fellow alumni of the ACLU national institute for high schoolers 2020-2021. We request the Youth Activist Research Collaborative to also consider alumni that are under 18.
