Make masks optional for our kids at Aventura City of Excellence School

We, the concerned parents of our beloved children in ACES, have real concerns over the mask mandatory policy mandated by the school’s governing board. We demand that masks become optional and not mandatory.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an Executive Order 21-175 (Ensuring Parents’ Freedom to Choose – Masks in Schools)
Here is part of his executive order:
“WHEREAS, masking children may lead to negative health and societal ramifications; and
WHEREAS, studies have shown that children are at a low risk of contracting a serious illness due to COVID-19 and do not play a significant role in the spread of the virus; and
WHEREAS, forcing children to wear masks could inhibit breathing, lead to the collection of dangerous impurities including bacteria, parasites, fungi, and other contaminants, and adversely affect communications in the classroom and student performance”
We the parents have real concerns about our children wearing a face masks for full days at school. We understand the need to protect and keeping precautions due to Covid-19. However the decision to enforce our children to be wearing face masks all day seams to be an extreme judgement on our children’s wellbeing. kids are still developing their communication skills, they need to see each other’s face expressions, mouth and tongue movements. Moreover Florida is one of the states that the freedom of choice has been a high priority during Covid keeping our businesses and communities open, and even-though and as of now we are all time low in covid cases. It is impossible to ask children to wear a face mask for a full day, it is damaging their wellbeing.
Our kids deserve to be able to breath freely without a facial mask. We ask that you reconsider this draconian decision. If some parents feel the need to mask their kids, they are welcomed to do so, and if others choose to be maskless they are also welcomed to do so.
Our proposed solution is making mask wearing optional. Allowing the kids and the parents the right to choose. Freedom of choice on our kids bodies belongs solely to the individual selves and no one else.
