As a past member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and as a past chapter president and national delegate, I insist that ACEP immediately cease making political donations to NRA-backed candidates for office. It is dismaying to realize that the specialty which has the greatest exposure to the consequences of gun violence is tied with the AMA as the largest supporter of NRA approved candidates among all medical organizations.

In signing this petition, I affirm that I am a past and or present member of ACEP, and will also note offices that I have held with the national and or state organizations of ACEP. 

If there is any organization in the country that should stand against gun violence and therefore against politicians who oppose commonsense measures to reduce gun violence, it is the American College of Emergency Physicians. No more support for facilitators of gun violence!
