She overcame the odds and made herself a beloved icon. Her story is now being portrayed on Broadway; it is shameful and downright embarrassing that Angela Bassett was not awarded the Oscar for Best Actress.  Taking nothing away from Emma Thompson in Howards End, Ms. Turner's story is still being written. She unites all races, colors, and creeds across a myriad of demographics around the entire world! She is one of the world's TOP recording artist.  Give Ms. Bassett her Oscar and Ms. Turner her accolades while they are both still with us. It is almost 30 years later. Ms. Turner is 83 Years old.
