To SCSU, SCSU Provost, & SCSU Registrars Office Staff 

Due to the downfall of our universities network along with the impact of COVID many students academic progress have been tremendously impacted. The registrars office of SCSU will not be offering “HS” and “HU” grading this semester. With all of the complications including the network and our system being hacked many professors have not shown the courtesy to allow students to make up assignments resulting in low final averages. Students endured network connection issues for an extensive amount of weeks consistently. The unreliable, inconsistent network issue is the reason why many students have low final course grades. Due to the connection complications financial aid was completely inoperable leaving students not able to access their funds/ scholarships to purchase books. Which resulted in the entire student body being academically behind because the students are not acquiring the information for the courses. Being that the circumstances were totally beyond the entire University’s control and many are being negatively impacted by the issue, we are petitioning the reconsideration of the HU/ HS grading system.
