In the year 2021, the term "master" is problematic to say the least. For too long, those in a position of power have created terms like master in order to further the divide between the ruling and the working class. Access to education is a pipe dream to many in underserved minority communities and having to see titles like "masters degree" only sow discord and further divide these fractured communities. 

That is why I'm proposing we change the name "Masters degree" to something more inclusive and something that will not be a constant reminder of the 400 years of systematic oppression people of color have had to endure at then hands of those privileged people in power.

The right to an education should be equal to all and its time we collectively take stands to ensure that right is available to everyone regardless of the color of their skin, place of birth, gender, or wealth.
