With the school year beginning, the schools need to have a change this year. The schools and the parents need to start on the same page and not turned against each other, but that is already starting. Recommendations are coming from ppl once again, who have NOT been around yours or my child or children. Freedom of choice has always been a American right, no restriction, if you are a legal American Citizen, that you have that right. Now that choice is being taken away by ppl who are NOT around us or our children. If a child wants to wear a mask, the child can have the discussion with his or her parent, or legal guardian and the decision can be made. Not the child have a discussion with someone who is not a legal guardian or parent for the decision to be made. If a teacher feels they need to wear a mask, refer the teacher to the proper ppe, not force everyone to wear something. Considering, if the teacher has a mask on, there should be no worries if the are around the children.

The difference is, that if the teacher wants someone to wear a mask, the school board will force children to follow(peer pressure and Authoritarianism), but then tell kids to not fall into peer pressure. Follow your own guidelines, and listen to what you have told children before.

Last year teachers didn’t want to be at school, ABSS sent the children home and made it virtual, a complete catastrophe. When a survey was done of parents, the results didn’t matter. You are removing the rights of parents and becoming authoritarianism in schools. If the teacher(1 person) doesn’t want to be at the school, then find a teacher who wants to teach the children.

Don’t tell parents this is the most important times of children’s lives then send them home. 

If I am not mistaken, tax money is what funds the school systems in North Carolina. If a parent doesn’t agree with said school rulings, then a parent should have the choice to opt out of paying taxes to the schools, especially if said parent doesn’t agree with school decisions. 

Let’s start the school year off together, not separated. Let’s start the year off with positivity, not decisiveness. Let’s start the year off equal, where everyone has a choice.
