Last Friday, January 6, 2017, Thinking Pinoy wrote an article exposing the exchange of messages at a of Yahoo Groups, Global Filipino Diaspora Council (GDFC), as informed to him by his friend, Sass Rogando Sasot. Apparently, some members of this group are known supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo and the Liberal Party (LP).
Among the prominent members of the said group are Fil-Am billionaire Loida Nicholas Lewis, by now a familiar name. Her sister Imelda Nicholas, Chairman of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas, CFO Commissioner Jose Molano, Jr., ABS CBN Europe News Bureau Correspondent Gene Alcantra, and Inquirer US Bureau columnist Ted Laguatan.
And although the exposed messages are not specifically to oust President Rodrigo Duterte from office, they contained criticisms on social media against VP Leni Robredo on her statements and actions on Typhoon Nina, as well as news about the viral memes from the camp of Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos, implicating that he won the vice-presidency.
The said email was dated January 4, 2017, and was sent by a certain Pete Silva to Imelda Nicholas. It was also posted at Educators for Leni Robredo Facebook group page on the same day by a certain Agnes G. Enguito. Also included the message are the responses and attacks to be made by the Office of the Vice President Social Media (OVP SOCMED).
There have been rumors that LP is cooking a plan to oust President Duterte, but the party members including VP Robredo have denied it. However, the conversations at GDFC Yahoo group suggest otherwise. The problem now is that mainstream media including GMA-7 and ABS-CBN, and newspapers such as Inquirer are not reporting about it.
Being a law-abiding citizen who cares about what's happening in my beloved country, Philippines, please join me in demanding mainstream media to report this alleged plan to commit sedition, (which is by the way strictly against the law) on TV news and print newspapers so that our fellow Filipinos with no access in Internet and social media will be well-informed.
