Is Colored Hair Distracting?

As you may have noticed, I recently dyed my hair the unique but beautiful color, turquoise. My career pathway at Dubiski is cosmetology. I felt that this hair color experience was aligned with the goals and curiculum of my pathway. The process was truly a learning experience and we even did the first steps in cosmetology class. I personally feel that just as the nusring department wears their scrubs because it is professional in their career pathway, my hair color would be celebrated within my career pathway as a cosmetology pathway at Dubiski. However, the administration at school has decided that I am required to dye my hair back to its natural color by tomorrow. Their reason being that it is not allowed per the Grand Prairie ISD Student Handbook. In the GPISD handbook under 2017-18 dresscode, It says "Unexacceptable: disruptive make-up or hair styles/ including but not imited to unnaturally dyed, coloured, or painted hair"
I personally don't think my hair is distracting and no one has expressed to me that my hair was distracting them from learning. I don't think any dyed hair is a disruption to learning..
