Keep your ABRET lifetime credentials, do not expire the REEGT and REPT in year 2023
This petition had 226 supporters
ABRET wants to require CEUs for REEGT and REPT lifetime credentials. Many of us will be about to retire by 2023. We should not have to renew lifetime credentials after being credentialed for years and years, especially so close to retirement.
Please sign my petition in protest.
This new requirement is unfair to all of us, especially those who are older, took boards with orals, and would like to keep our credentials so close to retirement. So now, ABRET is basically saying that without CEUs, that you are equal to a non-boarded tech.
Emeritus status is fine, but what if you are close to retirement, but not yet retired? *What if you don't really do EEG or EP anymore, but having an extra credential lifts you to another pay level?
*What if you are REEGT or REPT and in a senior level management position and need the credentials for management, but you don't actually do the test much anymore?
*What if you have lots of ACE CEUs from the 1990s and early 2000, when CEUs weren't required? Will those count?
*Why are there so many holes in this new change that make no sense?
*What if your job is based on your number of credentials?
Thank you, Carrie E. Ford, REPT (until 2023?), RNCST, CNCT
"ABRET desires to have the ABRET credentialing examinations nationally accredited. The CNIM and CLTM credentialing programs have already earned accreditation. The EEG and EP programs are currently not eligible because lifetime certificates were issued between 1964-2001."
