For every COVID test the government is taking 50p in VAT meaning each test costs 20% more than it needs to. If there are 600,000 cases per day this means the Treasury is benefiting from £300,000 per day! or £9m per month!

It is preposterous that ordinary people who are struggling to pay the bills and trying to protect their friends and family and are doing the right thing are being penalised in this way.

I urge you to support this petition and get the government to do a U-turn on this immediately.
