Currently there are nearly 1,000,000 individuals(men, women and kids) on both the public & private sex offender registry in the United States. Each year new names are added to it causing it to grow fatter and fatter. When whoever gets put on it and is made to register as a sex offender for whatever amount of time that person becomes an actual victim. One of the most famous victims of this horrible unforgivable law is Brock Allen Turner better known as Brock Turner.

It's messed up that a mistake that isn't even sexual can land you on this list, and even if it was a sexual act, we have a prison system for a reason.

It is time that legislators at the state and federal level stop putting themselves and their political careers ahead of our registrants and families. Criminal Justice and Prison Reform must continue to be covered by media and our issue discussed instead of dismissed.
