Many people are excluded from owning their own home due to record high rents making saving for a deposit near impossible. Drastic rises in living costs, unmatched by wage increases have further exasperated the issue leaving renters out in the cold.
Recent figures indicate more than 1/3 of people aged 23-38 may never own their own home and will be forced to rent their entire lives.

This petition proposes that the government encourages lenders to consider a persons ability to pay rent on time as an indicator of their ability to commit to a similar mortgage.
