REACH For a Difference started this petition to Abilene ISD School Board

LHS Life Skills students received their letter jackets today for competing in Special Olympics bowling last year.  Students earned a letter after practicing throughout the year and competing against other schools from East Texas.

“This has been a two-year process,” teacher Kristi Rozell said. “We wanted all of our seniors to have a letter jacket because they are some of the most proud Eagles in the school.”

The cost of the jackets was donated by one anonymous donor.

REACH for a Difference, the Big Country’s nonprofit Autism resource headed by Sara Pope Collins, would like to petition the Abilene Independent School District (AISD) to make this a reality. For over ten years, REACH has been able with support to provide resources, education, advocacy, community, and hope to local individuals and families affected by autism in 19 cities around the big country.

With your voice, we can bring recognition for the achievement of completing Life Skills classes. Those students deserve to have their hard work acknowledged and celebrated.
