Ugly Betty Revival

In 2006 ABC Network brought the show Ugly Betty into our living rooms and hearts for 4 seasons and cancelled it in 2010. This was a great show, well beyond it’s time, dealing with issues no one else had the courage to address and did so with much compassion and grace.

The American version, Ugly Betty, was inspired by Fernando Gaitan’s Colombian telenovela ‘Yo soy Betty, la fea’ and since then there have been over 20 remakes around the world in various countries.
The genius mind behind Ugly Betty was it’s writer, Mr Silvio Horta, who was able to keep us glued to our screens for four years. Ugly Betty was further endorsed by Ms Salma Hayek as it’s Executive Producer.

Mr Horta’s wonderful script was brought to life by a wonderfully talented and diverse cast which included America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, Michael Urie, Vanessa Williams, Ana Ortiz, Tony Plana, Becki Newton, Rebecca Romijn, Mark Indelicato, Alan Dale, Ashley Jensen and the wonderful matriarch Judith Light along with a world class line-up of guest stars. The cast has expressed interest in a revival.

This inspiring show gave us Betty and Daniel as leads of the Suarez and Meade families against the backdrop of a successful fashion magazine along with LGBTQ representation and profound character growth. Ugly Betty is one of those shows that touches the heart of all who watch it and continue to rewatch it. The characters are loved by the fans as we can relate to them in some way so we ask the networks to return Ugly Betty (and the original cast) as either a continuation in Season 5 or as a movie to complete the story that was cut short too early – there are so many unanswered questions and many more storylines to explore.

As a fan if you would like to see Ugly Betty renewed please sign the petition and share with fellow fans. Lets show the networks we mean business!
