Madelaine Ho started this petition to ABC and

Emmy Award winning “The Real” talk show host Jeannie Mai was forced to withdraw from “Dancing with the Stars” due to a “potentially life-threatening condition. What simply started as a sore throat had unbeknownst to me become a dangerous infection that already closed at least 60% of my airway and resulted in a throat abscess that spread in a matter of 3 days,” according to Jeannie.

Throughout Season 29, Jeannie has lit up the ballroom floor with her positive energy and sharing her family’s journey from Vietnam to the U.S. Jeannie was the first Vietnamese American to be on the show. She told the story of many Vietnamese immigrants in the country. Not only sharing about her culture, she shared her relationship with her mom, Mama Mai. She captured many hearts with how relatable she is to others.

She is loved by her  family, friends, partner Brandon Armstrong, cast members, crew, her fans, and DWTS fans. She was the ideal contestant -someone with no experience but worked hard, gave it her all, and had the time of her life with no regrets. Her partner Brandon Armstrong said it in a Instagram live that Jeannie was his favorite partner he’s ever had and this season was his most favorite. She built a close connection to the cast and crew and would be a great permanent addition a co-host or color commentator on Dancing with the Stars.

We love you, Jeannie! Get well soon.
