For five years there have been devoted fans to this show, we have watched every single week, and boosted ABC's ratings tremendously, "With 1.50 million watching at 8 PM on Monday, the ABC Family series garnered its best regular telecast viewership since August 27, 2012." (http://www.deadline.com/2013/06/secret-life-of-the-american-teenager-rises-in-series-finale/).
After hearing the popular show was ending, millions of viewers tuned in every week to witness the end of an "era", with the most suspense and most anticipated episode being the finale. After watching the series finale, MILLIONS of fans are highly disappointed, and just plain pissed off! It was like a slap in the face for us viewers, and we feel robbed of the last five years of our lives.
As I searched on Google, Facebook, and Twitter for fan reactions, it became very clear that I was not the only one who was furious, there have been over three million comments stating the exact same thing... "the finale was horrible!".
To quote a few... "The finale was horrible I vote for a redo!" (Samantha Felton, Facebook), "Have got to say I was a loyal watcher all five years and that was the worst series finale I ever watched" (Jennifer Mielich Massarone, Facebook), "Watched every episode for the past five years with my little sister. And it was the worst series ending ever. Shame on you #secretlife" (Koffin_Kat1313, Twitter), "...the writers should be ashamed that's what they gave their loyal fans for an ending..." (Tammy, TVFANATIC.COM).
That is just a microsize sample of the reviews, basically every single one said the same thing... it's just sad really...
So ABC Family, and Brenda Hampton, are you planning on just letting your fans down, or are you going to do the right thing and correct this finale?
