"The amount of time drawing wont change we just removed all the breaks, including lunch". What are we robots? I can't believe our 2d director Nicholas expects us to study and learn like this. Pushing our professors to teach more and our students to learn more in a shorter time period is awful. Pressuring to give shorter critiques, lesser quality is just awful. "Make the critiques 10 minutes". I hate that we are trying to make this into some kind of automation. We are coming here to get education, "chug and go".

It seems that ever since the current President Stephens has taken over, this school has been less about creating artists, and more about lining her pockets and molding students for corporations and adding to her car and building collections. This decision to reduce hours without adjusting tuition to reflect this, or even polling students is beyond the pale to me. Most students pay that tuition to have access to their instructors and facilities that the school provides. Reducing studio hours reduces the time with that access, time practicing in studio, and degrades the learning experience.

On top of that, AAU has a high percentage of GI Bill students and there are a percentage of students that come here with government assistance. On top of defrauding students out of what they enrolled for, in the cases of these GI Bill students (students the school have been actively recruiting and reaching out to), it is defrauding Federal money. The only reason why I'm sticking to my guns is that my Department Head has been the best mentor I've had as an artist, and that is support I need as I am changing careers. But at this point, I am considering only getting an Associates and taking that GI Bill money with me.

That’s some fucking bullshit. Either reduce the cost of tuition or increase to the appropriate amount of hours.

Our education is IMPORTANT to us! Please don’t reduce the class hours. Although we won’t have a lunch break to make up for the time, it greatly affects our education! I need break to regain my energy and ability to focus! Shortening our hours and taking away lunch is NOT beneficial for us!!!!

This is an insanely unfair practice. Showing that school is interested only in money, not art, or education.
