I am a female student at North County High School. I've had my period since I was 9 year old. My school may have disposable boxes for menstruation products, but they're almost always full; because no one empties them often. They do not provide free menstrual products in the bathrooms, they have these gigantic metal machines that you have to put quarters in, and half the time they don't even work. 

Why should we have to pay for menstrual products? They don't make you pay for toilet paper or soap in school bathrooms. Having your period is a natural function that will later allow new life to be brought into the world, and we shouldn't have to be ashamed of that.

We need the Anne Arundel County Board of Education to make a change. Periods have been around since the beginning of time, have been called taboo, disgusting, and many other words. Now that they're recognized as normal, and talked about a little bit more openly, it's time to change our actions to fit with our words.

Stand with me, for Period Culture. While periods can be had by non-binary people, and many more other groups than cisgender woman, we all have one thing in common. We need periods to bring life into the world, so let's bring respect to the word, "period".
