Working for a corporation that suggests degradation is unacceptable. I have worked at Target for a year, and the day of my orientation in August of 2012, I noticed in piece of the video being shown about how to help the guests of this corporation, that the employees were being told to bend down to people in wheelchairs. I find this degrading and inappropriate and I have many friends, family and fellow employees to have the same mutual thought on the subject. I am a proud Target employee and I love my job, but I was brought up to treat people with disabilities, no matter how small or large they may be, like you would want to be treated, and to not make them uncomfortable. Individuals are sometimes concerned that they will say the wrong thing, so they say nothing at all—thus further segregating people with disabilities.
