In the past 5 years, 3 of our 5 council members were hand selected by the City Council themselves, not by you, the citizens.  

Tony Kranz intentionally left his council seat vacant to run for Mayor, with hopes of appointing his own replacement should he win.  

Tony Kranz is the new Mayor of Encinitas, but Tony Kranz is not a King.  He should not have privilege above his constituents to hand select his own replacement.  He should not deny the community their voice. We live in a Democratic Republic, where government officials are to be elected by the citizens!  

Suppressing the vote is generally achieved by passing laws that restrict the right to vote.  This isn't a conversation about "left versus right, but about right versus wrong."

Tell City Hall that District 1 deserves to ELECT their representative. Don't let them suppress your VOTE! Please sign this petition and forward to your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers.
