Please stop denying children places in their catchment school

My children live in Roath, Cardiff and they will be denied places in their local catchment high school.
Although we live inside the boundaries to apply to Cardiff High School, for the last 2 years, Cardiff Council have shortened the boundaries, leaving us with no high school to apply to. Are we not worthy of being part of any school in our community? What message is this giving out to local people? What is the purpose of paying council tax if we can’t send our children to their local school?
This has left a whole community in turmoil, and the children are being scattered across the city into various schools, breaking up well established friendships. The whole system is chaotic and it’s having a knock-on effect with other schools because our community are taking up other children’s rightful places.
A petition was signed by 600 parents from our local primary school to address the issue but sadly no changes have been implemented. This has left me with no other option but to start this campaign.
This is why it's important to continue campaigning, to keep the children together in the local community.
