MAIN REASONS

1. Once a Retiring President gets involved in active campaigns for their successor, they cease from being the symbol of National Unity that we all look up to, especially in such times.

2. They should be looking for ways to ensure the electioneering period is peaceful as well as the transition rather than taking sides that may plunge our rather tribe-based politics into quagmire.

EFFECTS OF SUCH ACTION

3. If the President's side wins, the loser may refuse to accept the results citing involvement of government arms in the said win, while;

4. If the President's side loses, the president or their state machinery may refuse to handover therefore causing unnecessary mayhem as witnessed previously after several General Elections.

5. The President who is the Head of State and CIC until change of power MUST be non-partisan all through!
