Why this petition matters

Namaste,
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was much respected and admired by many South Asians/Indians for not just being the head of the Commonwealth nations but also for her wisdom, intellect and kindness. It is my belief that had she been alive she would have initiated the process of understanding the return of some culturally and historically relevant Crown jewels back to the place of their origin.
Kohinoor diamond is one such jewel that holds a strong cultural identity and is reflective of the many courageous and sensitive qualities of the people of India/South Asia. Kindness, non violence and forgiveness are a few of the humane qualities that people of South Asia have exhibited over the centuries. Being Spiritual is all about being kind and spreading positive energy. In the solidarity of the cause of a more progressive, equal, peacefull, just and kind world- a humble request for the UK Royal family/Government/people to return the Kohinoor diamond to either the National Museum of India or to the goddess Bhadrakali Temple in India, believed to be the first occupant of this historical diamond.
For a bright and productive- present and future 'India-UK' relationship, this event would bring forth much gratitude, emotional joy and celebrations for a whole lot of humans on the planet. I believe that the contemplative and compassionate people of UK would be as much delighted and happy about it as the hard-working, loving, beautiful and humble people of India. Together we can build a better future, conducive for mutually respectful human existence.
Thank you very much,
Abhinav Vats
