A National Day of Mourning for Grenfell

Portugal is mourning after the awful loss of life in fires that insurance companies would call 'an act of God'; without hesitation or lobbying, their government declared a National Day of Mourning. Here in the UK, greater numbers have died in utterly avoidable, criminal circumstances, yet there has been no suggestion of such an act of solidarity. To mark this horror nationally and so ensure this sickening event does not and cannot reoccur, to take stock of its implications, to help, but above all to mourn, we must have - we need - a National Day of Mourning.
