This has impacted the people of Edmonton and Alberta long enough. 12 homicides in the past year of 2023 in the city alone, on par with 2022 already. A man stabbed and killed a woman and her son for no reason in Crawford plains school, yet he was residing near the school the whole time. Edmonton has become unacceptably dangerous for anyone to live in, why is that? The Justice system. This man who murdered a woman and her child was in and out of prison, acting out and nonsensible attacks and many other people and children. Why is he being let out over and over again. Why wasn't he kept behind bars and put in prison for life. This goes for many criminals around the city and around the province, wondering freely with no consequences. Always being let off easily and still killing to this day. Peoples lives are at stake, children should be able to go to school safely everyday without worrying of being stabbed or being attacked by some methed out junky for his school supplies. We need a change of the justice system, a major one, put murderers in prison for life, put those who are a danger to society for in for longer than a year. Clean up this province, and clean up this city. Make Edmonton safe again!!

I'm asking for severe changes to the justice system, Keep these criminals away from society, so people don't feel the need to pack illegal weapons to protect themselves. Add much more time to their sentencing, majorly increase the police budget, build another prison if remand is getting too full, Edmonton can clearly afford it. Clear the streets from the crime, even collage campuses aren't even safe. 

I have seen and heard enough of this nonsense, on how the Justice system acts upon these major criminals, these people are very dangerous to regular society. This has been getting progressively worse, jumping 11.3 percent. We need this to stop now, before the city gets even worse than it already is.
