This is an outrage. A dear friend, age 84, put it this way: "How much more money do the Rudin's really need?" I have been brought to, and cared for by, Saint Vincent's ER on 3 separate occasions - most thankfully - and was also a patient of one of its staff's specialists who has since found employment out of state. I recently attended my first community board meeting - an eye-opener - and was flabbergasted as i listened to board members' concerns re: the architectural & aesthetic considerations of the Rudin project: Too surreal. My continued gratitude to those who do the truly heavy lifting. The rest of us must keep the momentum going as well. H.Z.Hendlin

This, so called stand alone emergency room" of the Rudin Group and North Shore LIJ is , not only illegal, but will harm this community and all it's residents. If you have no other choice, which I do not believe is true, then do nothing until you can put a full service hospital and real emergency service in the place that was ST. Vincent's hospital. Any other choice by you will not get my vote if you run again for office in this government!!!!

At the age of 81, I have been a patient at St. Vincent's - emergency and surgical. Now I have to depend on getting through heavy traffic should I need emergency care again. Operated on last year, I was transported to Beth Israel where a 4 PM surgery was completed at 2:AM. Then there was no bed to take me to. Patients were on the floor and leaning against walls in pre-op and post op. This is third country treatment. If another 9/11 occurs - God help us.

I am a physician formerly practing at St. Vincent's for over 20 years and know the importance of a hospital at this location. I was also a patient with, now, no clear choices to seek care and no emergency room in Manhattan that is truly well functioning...if I was able to ARRIVE alive!

The Rudins are an extremely wealthy family. I cannot understand why they want to build a condo in place of a hospital. The Rudins had been very supportive of St. Vincent's over the years. They frequently donated to causes in SVH (ie: nursing education, etc.). They don't need a condo there, but we need a hospital. Our representatives should speak directly to the family.

Each time I pass by this wonderful place, I maintain the hope that someone will finance the reopening of this historic hospital. The community is in desperate need of health care, especially the poor. I sign here to voice my hope.

Even though we have moved, my daughter still goes to PS41. The noise and dust from demolition and construction will be disruptive to the school. Just look at what's happened at PS51.

The Rudins and The North Shore LIJ are focusing too much on building lluxury condos, and not enough focus on The medical needs of the community. I was appalled when I went to the Planning Commission today. The Emergency Centre design is basic cosmetic procedures to an outdated and grossly undersized existing structure, while they plan on completely demolishing the main hospital buiilding and building a new luxury condo developemnets, which completely violates the changes that were made to have then hospital built in the first place. The whole develepement and there 'spin' on it was one of the shadiest expinations t I have witnessed in a heck of a long time. As I said to the commission today - This isn't about the community and it's need, need, needs. It is about greed, greed, GREED! How much did Rudin pay for the property? $0. I believe.Put a stop to developement until a more sensible and socially acceptable developemnet that has a POSITIVE IMPACT on the neightborhood has been designed.

I find the whole bancruptcy of St. Vincent's highly suspicious. What is a city without hospitals? When the buyers of these condos have emergencies where are they going? New York City is in a Hospital crisis. America has lost it's priorities.
