Your Majesty:

We write to you as the voice of the people from across the world with an appeal on behalf of Raif Badawi and Waleed Sami Abulkhair. We do so particularly now, as we enter the Holy Month of Ramadan - the gifted thirty days of Holiness, Mercy and Forgiveness, as bestowed by God.

First of all, we would like to convey salutations to Your Majesty on your recent ascent to the throne. As the new King, we recognise that you bear an enormous responsibility to guide your subjects in ways and opportunities that bestow upon each of them a peaceful and prosperous life. Of equal importance is the introduction and establishment of a new era for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in terms of global, political and economic relations.

We respectfully acknowledge that there will be many challenges ahead for you but also unique opportunities in your role as a Sovereign Ruler. The humanitarian choices and decisions you make as the head of Saudi Arabia ultimately present a possibility for your own name to be written into the annals of history, alongside all those who have made an instrumental contribution to global evolution and world peace.

People all around the world have the utmost respect for the fundamental principles of Mercy, Forgiveness, Compassion and Beneficence. Mr Badawi's situation has brought your country to the awareness of millions of citizens across the globe. Because of him, thousands of individuals are exploring and studying the key precepts, concepts, vision, ideals and humanitarian morals and values gifted to us by the Great Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him). The virtues He extolled are of instrumental influence to any evolving political and judicial system in the world, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Your Majesty, we appeal to you to grant a Royal Pardon to Raif Badawi. We also respectfully entreat you to pardon his brother-in-law, Waleed Sami Abulkhair. We call upon you to demonstrate the deep wisdom and high ideals as taught by Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him), the Great Messenger of God, and to inspire the world by openly practicing mercy, forgiveness, compassion and beneficence.

The case of Raif Badawi has placed Saudi Arabia under the international spotlight and brought it to the attention of millions of global citizens. There is now an unprecedented opportunity to gain new found respect by applying the highest principles, virtues, morals and values in your rulership which reflect those bestowed by the Prophet/Messenger Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him).

The act of granting clemency to Raif Badawi and Waleed Sami Abulkhair will send an unequivocal message to the world that Saudi Arabia upholds the fundamental humanitarian values taught by the Great Messenger of God, Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him). A Royal Pardon will serve as a catalyst for the people of the world to acknowledge, validate and recognise Saudi Arabia as an authentic force within the humanitarian, political, economic and global arenas.

Your Majesty, we, the voice of the people of the world beseech you to issue a Royal Pardon to Raif Badawi and Waleed Sami Abulkhair. By doing so, you will inspire millions of citizens the world over to also aspire to the most virtuous and highest ideals of Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) the Great Messenger/Prophet whose impeccable and flawless principles underpin the very foundation of your ancient nation.

With our sincerest wishes to you and for you in your role as the new King of Saudi Arabia.
