Why this petition matters
In so many of our schools across the country, our kids arrive home sweating from a ride home on the school bus from a lack of A/C. Similar to our UPS drivers, our bus drivers endure not only the ambient temperature but also the heat from the engine so close to them. Shelby County and many other counties have fallen short of ensuring the safety of our children. Attached is an article published three years ago explaining the situation, how much money was given to districts, how hot it was three years ago and here we are with barely nothing accomplished. Please read the article if nothing else. I personally want to put this in front of our great Governor with your signatures and mine. She can’t fix the problem if she don’t know about it. Protect our children and those who carefully deliver our children back home to us. Change.Org agreed to remove any donation requirement. Please share a comment of your children experiences having to use the bus home. My son would be red faced and pouring sweat with only a 15min ride.
