Unsafe and unhealthy conditions at the neighborhood shopping area located on the corner of 87th Street and the Dan Ryan has become a disgraceful eyesore to the community and presents health and safety risks to pedestrians and motorists alike. Trash completely surrounds Sistar. The parking lot lacks measures to control a safe, flow of traffic.  

Residents, visitors and other stakeholders in the community are petitioning the owners of the mall to partner with the community to implement health and safety standards, including (but not limited to) the following:

1. Contract a firm to design the addition of health and safety measures and facilitate safe travel on the parking lot (i.e., utilize beautification strategies, lighting, and other measures to direct the flow of traffic)
2. Outline plan for owner's and commercial tenants' responsibility to control trash in and around the property. 
3. Request firm submit at least 2 design options to the community for feedback.
4. Release timeline to complete work.
