4pm - 16th September - Meeting at Wapping Children's Centre
Sep 10, 2016 — After many months of requesting, Biggs and Saunders have agreed to meet the campaign - face to face. The meeting is set for 4pm, this Friday coming afternoon inside the Wapping Children's Centre. Please pass on the message and bring everyone. This is a very good opportunity to make it known the initial cuts and plans for more cuts are entirely unacceptable. Please RSVP your interest to attend to this email address and we look forward to seeing you one the day.
The campaign website is up with lots of interesting facts and figures at http://www.expandchildrenscentres.net/#/facts-and-figures/. Many of your own petition comments are present throughout the website! Please share this website far and wide.
There link http://www.expandchildrenscentres.net/ shows other things you and your friends and family can do to keep the campaign momentum whirring and pressure on the politicans.
Your are invited to come and support presentation of the petition to the Tower Hamlets Full Council Meeting on 16th November 2016. Please aim to get another five signatures each in the next week! This is the meeting we will presented to the full council meeting.
We really do need help, so please check out this page http://www.expandchildrenscentres.net/#/help/ and pick one of the areas the campaign needs help with and get in touch! We are a entirely random collection of parents that have come together for this campaign and very open to everyone : )
I have attached a picture of one of the Trumpers Jumpers classes delivered at Marner Children's Centres by Community Solutions (Local Wapping and Tower Hamlets Charity) which has had its funding for this commissioned service cut due to the first round of cuts in 2015-16. We deliver from 5 other sites including Wapping's One O Clock Club - see http://community-solutions.org/fun-activities-for-children-parents-carers-east-london/. We are concerned that we won't be able to continue delivering for much longer if funding is not reinstated soon or funding from elsewhere found. We are in our second term of delivering for free and the charity is struggling. If you can help by making a donation, please visit http://community-solutions.org/ (the Paypal button is the better option as we will need a couple of days to get the JustGiving button livened).
Should you have any great ideas or contacts we should get in touch with to assist us with raising money, please get in touch at communitysolutions1st@gmail or contact Christine on 07891138950.
