Stop the 60ft Steel Mobile Phone Mast in Wellswood

Vodafone have applied to erect a 20 metre high steel mobile phone mast on the corner of Lydwell Park Road, which is off the Babbacombe Road in Wellswood.

This huge metal tower will rise well above the nearby buildings & trees and will forever change the skyline and overall character of this area.

It is extremely close to an adjacent hotel and homes in Lydwell Park Road and will completely dominate the street scene. The proposed site will also be highly visible by everyone using the Babbacombe Road. Both residents & tourists alike will be faced with this eyesore upon entering or leaving our conservation area as there is nothing to screen it from public view.

Some local residents have also expressed their concern to me regarding possible health issues potentially attributed to the microwave radiation from these transmitters.

I strongly urge VODAFONE to rethink the location of this totally unacceptable carbuncle, place it out of our neighbourhood and put it out of sight off the main road away from both residential and commercial properties.
