We want a legalised graffiti area in Camborne/Redruth. The aim is to create a open public space for local street artist to use and people interested in street art to learn and enjoy. Having a legalised space means artist can practice without breaking any laws. Its proven that having legalised area actually reduces illegal graffiti around a local area. Many young street artists are able to practice and even build a career for themselves in legal zones around the country. Many cities have adopted this approach and enjoy stunning creative murals in areas of the city otherwise run down or unattractive. Cornwall is behind on this and locally the nearest legal area is Newquay skate park. The state park in Tuckingmill would be one possible area which could be adapted for a legal graffiti zone. Currently the council is spending money regularly removing illegal graffiti from the state bowl. Please sign to show your support so we can get the council to modernise their approach to graffiti.
