Sevenoaks District Council are planning on removing the shop, FTRA and children play park to build 33 homes, a new shop and new Community Hall. They have said a smaller park will be reinstated sandwiched between the existing block of flats and the new block of flats in an area that they themselves have described as having 'an unfriendly feel due to the overlooking of surrounding buildings'. This area will be thrown in the shadows of the flats for the whole day and won't receive any natural sunlight at any point during the day; not the best environment for the children to play in.

This will remove the only open green space our estate has and a hugely needed safe space for the children to play in. The new development will add to our parking issue as already parking is a huge problem here and these homes will come with cars too! The council propose to put in an extra 20 spaces but that won't even cover what we need now let alone what we will need once these new homes are built.

We are not against the regeneration of the estate; we know it's tired, the pavements are uneven and the street lighting is almost non existant but we shouldn't have to squeeze houses in to pay for the improvements our estate needs. What we would like to propose is to keep the existing footprint of the shop and FTRA and for the council to put flats above them. Herringbone style parking could be put in along the side of the park and on the grass area where Wayside Drive meets Field Drive. This way the council get a few extra homes to help raise the funds to go towards the rebuilding  of the shop and FTRA and we get much needed parking spaces for the Residents.

Please sign and help us have a say in the future of the estate that we live in.
