After countless requests for the 24th Longview Apartment Complex to address the safety and security of the residents, we have resorted to creating a petition to voice our continued concerns. It is neither fair, nor legal, for the residents to live in the conditions that the management of this complex deem sufficient. 

As members of this community we request that San Miguel Management fix the following issues:

• The parking garage gate is often left half open during the nights. Bikes and vehicles being burglarized and vandalized due to something entirely preventable is unacceptable.
• The green entrance door at the front of the building is left open during the day and night.
• Issues regarding mold in apartment units have been left unaddressed.
• Maintenance requests have been largely unattended to, regardless of the severity of the request.

We wish to remind you that we, as residents, have protections guaranteed by the state of Texas. Despite the apartment’s motto being “Love Where You Live”, we have found that the management does not make good on this promise. 

Additionally, below is a list of complaints that, while not necessarily regarding safety, are important for us to voice.

• A/C units being out of service since move-in.
• Kitchen lights being out.
• Smoke alarms randomly going off.
• Bathroom lights being out.
• Fridges going out.
• Internet being out of service for nearly three days.
• Apartments not being properly cleaned before move-in.
• Despite Amazon gift cards being promised on move-in, they were not delivered till a month after.

We understand that some of this is unavoidable, and that maintenance has been very busy, however, we believe that we are owed what was promised. The way that we have been treated has been unacceptable. We are paying customers. We have been promised housing with safe and livable conditions. Please be more transparent with residents as we move forward in this process.
