21 March be declared as International Day of Attan:
Attan is a cultural and traditional dance of all pashtuns in the entire world. Pashtun nation is the worst victim of terrorism in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. Despite all resistance from terrorist forces, pashtun liberal forces promote pashtun cultural activities across Pakistan. On 21 March 2017, Pashtun students, organized cultural activity in Punjab University located at Lahore, Pakistan. People from diverse ethnic back ground were invited to witness Pashtun cultural dance "Attan". Minister for Higher Education Punjab Syed Ali Raza Gilani was the chief guest at the ceremony organised by Pashtuns.
However, after departure of the minister, suddenly more than two dozens extremists of Islami Jamiat Tulaba (student organization of Islamic fundamentalist political party, Jumaati Islami), equipped with hockey sticks, came and attacked the Pashtuns, and hit pashtun stundents, doing attan and burnt all cultural stalls. 18 pashtun students, who were dancing attan, were badly injured and evacuated to hospital.
Brutal attack by Islamic Fundamentalists against peaceful attan, organised by pashtun students, has become a major event in pashtun history and in order to pay respect to the victim students, attan is being arranged in all pashtun areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
It is therefore requested that 21 March may be declared as "International Day of Attan"
