We all love our TV shows, don't we? There have been many great TV shows recently- Chernobyl and Stranger Things 3. Since HBO's Chernobyl has now ended, we now have Stranger Things 3 to watch. Many of the people who watched Chernobyl also may have watched Stranger Things, and many of the people who watched Stranger Things also watched Chernobyl. Chernobyl was an amazing but short-lived miniseries (hence the name) but Stranger Things still has another season potentially out there- Stranger Things 4. Since these are both TV shows that people have loved, the next step should be to include the Chernobyl disaster as part of the plot of Stranger Things 4.

Stranger Things 3 takes place in 1985, so it would be logical to have Stranger Things 4 take place in 1986, which is the same year as the Chernobyl disaster. Stranger Things 3's new plot point involving the Russians and the Soviet Union is also something to consider, as it could imply that the Chernobyl NPP was merely a front for the more sinister lab work and research that is happening. What I am saying is that the Chernobyl disaster could have been caused by the experiments with the creatures and portals, which is something to consider. (The exposed core could potentially be a portal itself)

Another important thing to mention is that if Stranger Things 4 with Chernobyl is created, certain characters in Chernobyl should be featured alongside the Stranger Things characters. Specifically, the power plant workers and technicians should be focused on, since they did not get enough screen time. While Chernobyl centered mainly on the characters of Valery Legasov and Boris Shcherbina, Stranger Things 4's Chernobyl subplot should center on two specific technicians- Leonid Toptunov and Aleksandr Akimov. These two were amazing characters who deserved much more screen time. They should be played by the same actors as in Chernobyl, Robert Emms and Sam Troughton. Another thing to answer is that would the technicians be in on the research and experimentation, or do they just think they are working at a regular nuclear power plant?

Anyway, those are my reasonings for a potential Chernobyl disaster subplot in Stranger Things 4. If you love Chernobyl and Stranger Things, and you want to see them put together, sign this petition!
