There is a smoke shop located at the center of town (middle neck road) next to la Pizzeria. Children under the age of 21 are consistently roaming the streets of town. They are allowed to enter these smoke shops when they are clearly CHILDREN and don’t know any better. They enter the smoke shop to purchase snacks/drinks/etc. The goal of this petition is to enforce the requirement of an ID to enter the smoke shop. there has been lots of cases occurring due to fentanyl poisoning, and other unfortunate events. Even if the snacks that contain THC are under the counter; we would feel a lot better if children did not even have an option to walk through the doors of a smoke shop. we understand that this requires more enforcement, but we want to take an extra step in keeping the children safe.
